Police Submit Challan in Gul Plaza Fire Case, Multiple Individuals Named as Accused

Karachi (HRNW)- Nabi Bakhsh Police have submitted the challan in the Gul Plaza fire case to the prosecution, where it will undergo scrutiny before being presented before the court.

According to the prosecution, several objections raised by prosecutors have not yet been addressed by the police, and the report of the judicial commission has also not been attached to the challan. The case file will be submitted to the court after the scrutiny process is completed.

The challan states that the Gul Plaza fire was accidental, a conclusion that police say is supported by the forensic report. Shopkeeper Naimatullah has been named as an accused in the case, while his 11-year-old son, Huzaifa, has also been included among the accused.

According to the investigation report, Gul Plaza Committee President Tanveer Pasta, Vice President Ammar Ismail, General Secretary Muhammad Amin, and Joint Secretary Muhammad Ramzan have also been nominated as accused. However, none of the accused have been arrested so far.

The tragic Gul Plaza fire claimed the lives of 72 people, while the remains of four victims have yet to be recovered. Police stated that statements from eyewitnesses were recorded during the investigation as part of the evidence collected in the case.
