Tehran (HRNW)- Iran has proposed the establishment of a new regional security framework for the Gulf, calling on neighboring countries to form a joint alliance aimed at strengthening regional stability and cooperation.
According to Iranian media, Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi made the proposal after meeting with Iraqi National Security Advisor Qassem Al-Abboudi in Tehran.
Araqchi said recent regional developments have demonstrated that the countries of the Gulf should take greater responsibility for ensuring their own security. He emphasized that future regional security arrangements should be developed through mutual consultation and cooperation among the countries of the region rather than relying on external actors.
The proposal comes amid ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, with Iran advocating closer regional coordination on security issues.
