Munich, Germany (HRNW)- Germany has ramped up production of large-scale, long-range drones for Ukraine, with more than 5,000 units planned, including models capable of flying around 1,500 kilometers. The project is being carried out through a partnership between German-American defense company Auterion and Ukrainian company Airlogix under a German government contract worth approximately €300 million, scheduled for completion by mid-2027.
Production has already begun near Munich, with plans for an additional facility in eastern Germany. The drones will use artificial intelligence to help overcome electronic warfare systems and improve targeting precision. Germany and Ukraine are also advancing cooperation on the joint production of drones, missiles and related software.
