PESHAWAR (HRNW) – The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has incurred expenses totaling approximately PKR 2 million for the sighting of the Ramadan-ul-Mubarak moon, a cost that will be borne by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) provincial government.
According to official sources, the agenda for the 48th Cabinet Meeting, scheduled for February 25 under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, has been finalized. A key item on the agenda is the formal approval of these expenditures.
The funds were primarily utilized for:
-
Establishing specialized observation centers across the province.
-
The procurement and provision of technical moon-sighting equipment.
-
Logistics and facilities for the committee members during the sighting process.
The provincial cabinet is expected to deliberate on and sanction the budget during the upcoming session to ensure the administrative costs of the religious committee are settled.
