Hafiz Naeem Announces Nationwide Protests for Karachi Rights, 10 Demonstrations Planned in Karachi

Karachi (HRNW) – Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has announced that protests will be held across Pakistan for the rights of Karachi, with demonstrations planned at 10 different locations in Karachi on Sunday.

Speaking at a press conference at Idara Noor Haq, he alleged that peaceful protesters were subjected to heavy shelling and force, claiming that women, children, and elderly citizens were affected by tear gas. He criticized the Sindh government over civic issues, including water shortages, broken roads, sewer accidents, tanker incidents, and fire response failures.

Hafiz Naeem said that Karachi, despite paying the highest taxes, is deprived of basic facilities and a peaceful life. He urged youth to protest peacefully and advised police to avoid the use of force. He also demanded the release of Member of Assembly Muhammad Farooq and more than 50 detained workers, stating that dialogue with the government would only be possible after their release.

He reiterated that protests would be held nationwide in solidarity with Karachi and emphasized that no one can deprive citizens of their right to peaceful protest.
