Trump Opposes Israel’s West Bank Annexation Move Amid Growing Global Criticism

Washington (HRNW)- US President Donald Trump has also opposed Israel’s decision to control the West Bank, while Britain has also called on Israel to immediately withdraw the decision.

According to Reuters, a day after Israel’s far-right Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and Defense Minister Israel Katz announced new measures to increase Israeli control over the occupied Palestinian territories, a White House official said on Monday that the US president is opposed to Israel’s annexation of the occupied West Bank.

Global criticism of Israel’s move is growing, including from the European Union, Britain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey. The British government also said that they condemn the Israeli cabinet’s decision to expand the occupation of the West Bank, the attempt to unilaterally change the geographical structure of Palestine is unacceptable, any such attempt would be contrary to international law, Israel should immediately withdraw the decision.

It should be noted that eight Islamic countries, including Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt, the European Union, and the Secretary-General of the United Nations have also condemned Israel for its actions to increase Israeli control over the West Bank and pave the way for the construction of more illegal settlements in the occupied Palestinian territory.
