Gaza (HRNW)- Hamas has confirmed that the details of the US President’s new proposal for a 60-day ceasefire in Gaza, to which Israel has agreed, have reached us through mediators.
According to the international news agency, a Hamas spokesman said that the organization’s leaders are closely examining the new proposal.
“We are serious and ready to accept any proposal that could lead to a complete end to the war,” said Taher al-Nunu, a senior Hamas official.
He said that our leaders will meet with Egyptian and Qatari mediators in Cairo to narrow differences and resume negotiations.
The Hamas spokesman added that Israel has always violated the ceasefire agreement unilaterally, thereby hurting our trust.
The Hamas spokesman said that if the world powers take Israel’s guarantee, we can consider this proposal on our terms.
It should be remembered that President Trump had said yesterday that Israel had agreed to the terms of a 60-day ceasefire and now Hamas should also accept this proposal, otherwise there will be a great disaster.
President Trump added that Qatar and Egypt have worked hard for peace. I want Hamas to accept this deal, because a better opportunity will not come again.
An Israeli official said that President Trump’s new proposal includes a 60-day ceasefire, partial withdrawal of the Israeli army from Gaza The terms include a withdrawal, a massive increase in humanitarian aid, and a US assurance that it will negotiate an end to the war in the future.
It is not clear how many hostages would be released in this proposal, but in the past such proposals have included the release of about 10 hostages.
Hamas, on the other hand, has always maintained that it is willing to release the remaining 50 or so hostages provided that Israel completely withdraws from Gaza and stops the war.
