Punjab Govt Decides to Shift All Bus Stands and Heavy Transport to Rawalpindi Ring Road

Rawalpindi (HRNW)- The Punjab government is taking important steps to manage traffic and limit heavy traffic in the city. All public transport, including the Pirodhai General Bus Stand, is being shifted to the Ring Road Rawalpindi.

According to sources, the vegetable market of Islamabad will also be shifted to the Ring Road, while Faizabad, No. 26 Chungi and all other bus stands will also be shifted. In future, heavy transport will not be allowed to enter Rawalpindi city.

Pirodhai Bus Stand will now come under the full ownership of the Punjab government and local bus service will be provided from here to Rawalpindi and Islamabad. The fare for passengers has been fixed between Rs 20 and Rs 50, which will enable them to easily travel to different parts of the city through a single bus service.

A base will probably be set up near the Islamabad Airport for transport coming from Peshawar. All transport coming from Punjab will come via the Ring Road, whether it is from the Motorway or the GT Road. The Ring Road connects the Motorway and the GT Road.

During this time, traffic coming from Azad Kashmir (via Murree) will be stopped near Bhara Kahu, while traffic coming from other districts of Azad Kashmir will use the Rawat Ring Road. The Ring Road is currently being completed from Rawat to the new Islamabad Airport.
