Flour Prices Surge Across Pakistan, 20kg Bag Sees Sharp Weekly Increase in Major Cities

Islamabad (HRNW)- According to the latest data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), a significant increase has been recorded in the price of a 20-kilogram bag of flour in various cities across the country during the past week.

The highest increase was observed in Sargodha, where the price of a 20kg flour bag surged by Rs 590. Other notable increases include Multan (Rs 226.66), Khuzdar (Rs 200), Bahawalpur (Rs 163.33), Quetta (Rs 140), Gujranwala (Rs 134), Islamabad and Rawalpindi (Rs 120), while Karachi, Peshawar, Sukkur and Larkana recorded increases of up to Rs 100. In Hyderabad and Sialkot, prices rose by Rs 80, in Bannu by Rs 50, and in Lahore by Rs 40.

Citizens say that the continuous rise in flour prices has further intensified inflationary pressure, making it increasingly difficult for households to manage their monthly budgets.
