Tehran (HRNW)- Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has said that Iran does not seek war or conflict with its Arab and Gulf neighbors amid escalating tensions between Tehran and Washington.
According to Al Jazeera, Pezeshkian particularly referred to Arab countries that host US military bases, saying Iran does not view its regional neighbors as direct adversaries.
The Iranian president said countries in the region should resolve their own disputes through direct dialogue and regional diplomacy, arguing that the military presence of external powers cannot provide a lasting solution to the Middle East’s problems.
Pezeshkian’s remarks come as tensions between Iran and the United States have placed several Gulf states under heightened diplomatic and security pressure. The presence of US military assets across the region remains a major point of contention between Tehran and Washington.
According to the Associated Press, Iran has identified US assets located in Arab countries among potential targets in response to US and Israeli attacks. Reports of Iranian actions against US installations in Gulf countries and rising tensions around the Strait of Hormuz have further complicated the security situation for regional governments.
The Iranian president’s message appears aimed at reassuring Arab governments that Tehran does not seek confrontation with them, while simultaneously reiterating Iran’s opposition to the presence of foreign military forces in the region.
