Islamabad (HRNW)- Security forces are continuing operations against militant groups in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under the Radd-ul-Fasaad-3 and Azm-e-Istehkam frameworks, with reports of militants being killed and hideouts, tunnels, and explosive stockpiles being destroyed.
According to security sources, six militants associated with the group identified by authorities as Fitna-al-Hind were killed during an intelligence-based operation in the Sunni area of Kachhi district, Balochistan.
The sources said the militants were targeted with the assistance of quadcopters, while a large quantity of weapons and ammunition was recovered from the area.
A clearance operation is currently underway in the area to search for and eliminate any remaining militants and secure the surrounding locations.
Meanwhile, security operations are also continuing in North Waziristan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where security forces reportedly destroyed multiple hideouts and tunnels belonging to militants referred to by authorities as Khwarij.
According to security sources, a significant quantity of explosive material was recovered during the operation. Several militants were also reportedly killed, although the exact number was not immediately disclosed.
Explosives recovered during the search operation were subsequently neutralized with the assistance of a bomb disposal squad, according to the sources.
Security forces have said that operations will continue under the Azm-e-Istehkam framework with the stated objective of dismantling militant networks, destroying hideouts, recovering weapons and explosives, and improving security across the country.
The latest operations come amid continued counterterrorism activity in both Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where security agencies have been conducting intelligence-based operations against militant groups.
