Juba, South Sudan (HRNW) – The UN World Food Programme (WFP) and UNHCR have warned that approximately 650,000 refugees and asylum seekers in South Sudan could lose vital food and nutrition assistance within weeks because of severe funding shortages. The agencies say the country is already facing one of the world’s most serious hunger crises, making the potential interruption of assistance particularly dangerous for vulnerable families and children.
