Washington (HRNW) — Iran’s attacks during the war reportedly caused approximately $13 billion in damage to the United States, including damage to military facilities, aircraft and defense equipment, according to a report attributed to The Wall Street Journal.
The report claims that Iranian attacks damaged at least 20 U.S. military facilities across eight countries, while a significant number of aircraft and other military assets were reportedly destroyed or damaged.
According to the report, major facilities affected included Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia, Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, and the U.S. Fifth Fleet headquarters in Bahrain.
The report further states that the conflict led to a significant depletion of U.S. missile and defensive weapons stockpiles, with some systems potentially requiring years to restore to pre-war levels.
The reported losses have raised questions over the future cost of protecting U.S. military bases and personnel in the region and whether Washington will need to significantly increase spending on air and missile defense.
