Karachi (HRNW) – The Sindh High Court has granted post-arrest bail to three suspects in a case involving the alleged smuggling of 104 kilograms of imported silver.
In its written order, the court approved the bail applications of all three accused and directed them to submit surety bonds worth Rs. 500,000 each.
The court observed that the silver was not recovered from any border area of the country and noted that there is no legal restriction on bringing silver into Pakistan. The court remarked that it was possible that the silver had been brought into the country through legal means.
The Sindh High Court further observed that, at this stage, the alleged smuggling had not yet been proven before the court and that the case required further investigation.
During the hearing, the prosecutor opposed the bail applications and informed the court that messages from the accused persons’ WhatsApp accounts had also been obtained as part of the investigation.
The court noted that further inquiry was required in the matter and subsequently approved the bail petitions of the accused.
The three accused granted bail include Nadeem Memon, Nauman, and Naveed.
