Lahore (HRNW) — A petition has been filed before the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Lahore seeking access to former federal minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Hammad Azhar and permission for his close family members to meet him.
The petition was filed by Hammad Azhar’s wife and mother, who stated that he is currently on physical remand in connection with a case related to the May 9 incidents.
According to the petition, the applicants had approached Punjab Police seeking access to Hammad Azhar, but their request was rejected.
The petition refers to Article 10 of the Constitution, arguing that it provides protection of fundamental rights. The applicants claim that police are not allowing Hammad Azhar to meet his close family members, including his mother and wife.
