London (HRNW) — A system failure at 11 major airports across the United Kingdom disrupted more than 8,000 flights over two days, causing significant inconvenience for passengers and widespread travel delays.
According to flight schedule data, 3,310 flights were affected on the first day, while 3,843 flights were affected on the second day.
The affected major airports included Heathrow, Gatwick, Manchester, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Bristol, Stansted, Glasgow, Belfast, Luton and London City Airport.
Overall, around 2,000 flights were cancelled, while approximately 6,000 flights were delayed during the two-day disruption.
The system failure caused thousands of passengers to face long waiting times, changes to flight schedules and disruptions to their travel plans.
