Tehran (HRNW)- Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has reaffirmed that the Islamic Republic of Iran will not compromise on the rights of its people, national interests, or fundamental principles under any circumstances, and will not accept conditions imposed by its adversaries.
According to the Iranian news agency Tasnim, President Pezeshkian made the remarks during a meeting with scholars and researchers at a religious seminary in Qom, where he discussed the country’s policy and ongoing diplomatic contacts with the United States.
The president said that protecting the rights of the Iranian people and safeguarding national interests have remained the government’s highest priorities in all engagements with Washington, while preserving Iran’s honor, dignity, and national strength.
Pezeshkian stressed that Iran would not abandon its people’s rights, core principles, or national interests at any stage. He added that the country’s real strength lies in faith, public support, and confidence in the nation’s leadership.
He further stated that all diplomatic contacts with the United States have been conducted in accordance with Iran’s official policies, constitutional procedures, and under the guidance and consultation of the Supreme Leader, with all decisions made through the country’s legal and institutional framework.
The Iranian president also criticized certain political groups, accusing them of attempting to undermine the negotiating team and cast doubt on national decisions, warning that such actions could damage Iran’s diplomatic efforts.
He emphasized that national unity and internal cohesion are essential amid the current regional and international environment and urged all political forces to work together in protecting the country’s national interests.
His remarks come as diplomatic contacts continue between Iran and the United States regarding the implementation of a memorandum of understanding, while further technical consultations on a range of issues are expected in the future.
