Monsoon System Arrives in Pakistan as Heavy Rains and Winds Forecast Across Punjab

LAHORE (HRNW)- The seasonal monsoon system has officially reached Pakistan, bringing an expected wave of rainfall across most districts of Punjab, including the provincial capital, starting today.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), Lahore has already experienced a mix of sun and clouds since early morning, accompanied by strong winds and light drizzle. Regular downpours are predicted to expand into several other key districts, including Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot, Narowal, Chakwal, and Rawalpindi.

In anticipation of the monsoon rains and potential urban flooding, high-alert directives have been issued to provincial civic departments, including the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA), the Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC), and the local Municipal Corporation. Meanwhile, temperatures in Lahore fluctuated from a morning minimum of 26°C, with the maximum projected to reach up to 38°C later in the day.
