RAWALPINDI (HRNW): Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir has categorically stated that violence will not be tolerated in Pakistan and that religious sentiments must not be exploited to incite unrest within the country. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir made these remarks during a high-level meeting with Shia scholars in Rawalpindi, where they discussed national security and inter-faith harmony. He emphasized that religious scholars play a pivotal role in promoting unity, tolerance, and national solidarity, urging them to actively counter misinformation and sectarian narratives that threaten social cohesion. Addressing regional security, the Field Marshal demanded that the Afghan Taliban prevent their territory from being used for terrorism against Pakistan, asserting that the use of Afghan soil for such activities is absolutely intolerable. He further warned that terrorists and their sanctuaries will be targeted wherever they are found, reiterating the military’s commitment to eliminating threats to Pakistan’s sovereignty and internal peace.
