Power Breakdown at Hub Pumping Station Halts Water Supply in West District and Keamari

Karachi (HRNW)- According to a spokesperson for the Water and Sewerage Corporation, power supply has been completely cut off due to a sudden breakdown at the Hub Pumping Station by K-Electric, as a result of which water supply in the West District and Keamari has been temporarily suspended.

According to the spokesperson, initially, power supply was suspended from the Walika Grid Station by K-Electric. Later, power was supplied to the Hub Pumping Station from the Al-Mutazah feeder under standby arrangement, however, power was also suddenly cut off from the Al-Mutazah feeder at 10:40 pm.

After the complete power suspension, pumping activities of the Hub Pumping Station came to a complete halt. According to K-Electric officials, power supply was affected due to a cable fault in the feeder.

A spokesperson for the Water Corporation said that water supply in the West District and Keamari has been temporarily suspended due to a cable fault, while the Water Corporation officials are in constant contact with the K-Electric administration for the early restoration of power.

According to officials, pumping will resume as soon as power is restored and water supply will gradually return to normal.
