Beijing (HRNW)- On the Pak-Afghan tension, the spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry has said in his statement that Pakistan and Afghanistan are close neighbors and both are neighbors of China. China is deeply concerned about the escalation of the conflict.
The spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry said that China supports action against all forms of terrorism. China appeals to both sides to exercise restraint and resolve their differences and disputes through dialogue and consultation.
China has been making efforts to mediate between Pakistan and Afghanistan through its own resources and is ready to play a constructive role in improving relations between the two countries in the future.
On the other hand, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has expressed deep concern over the recent cross-border clashes between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
UN Secretary-General’s spokesperson Stephane Dujarric said in a statement that Antonio Guterres is closely monitoring the situation and calls on the parties to ensure the protection of civilians in accordance with international law.
