Islamabad (HRNW)- NEPRA has approved a request for a reduction of Rs 1.14 in the basic electricity tariff. The basic electricity tariff will be reduced by a maximum of Rs 1.16 per unit. NEPRA has approved the government’s request for a reduction in the basic tariff from July 1. The maximum electricity tariff for domestic consumers has been reduced from Rs 48.84 to Rs 47.69. The tariff for protected domestic consumers from 1 to 100 units has been reduced by Rs 1.15 to Rs 10.54. The tariff for protected consumers from 101 to 200 units has been reduced by Rs 1.15 to Rs 13.01. The tariff for non-protected domestic consumers from 1 to 100 units has been reduced by Rs 1.15 to Rs 22.44. The tariff for 201 to 300 units per month has been reduced by Rs 1.16.
The tariff for 301 to 400 units per month has decreased by Rs. 1.16 to Rs. 37.99. The tariff for 401 to 500 units per month has decreased by Rs. 1.14 to Rs. 40.22. The tariff for 501 to 600 units per month has decreased by Rs. 1.16 to Rs. 41.62. The tariff for 601 to 700 units per month has decreased by Rs. 1.16 to Rs. 42.76.
The tariff for more than 700 units per month has decreased by Rs. 1.15 to Rs. 47.69. The tariff of Rs. 3.95 per unit will remain for domestic lifeline users up to 50 units per month. The tariff for lifeline users up to 51 to 100 units per month will remain at Rs. 7.74 per unit.
