Gaza: The Khurshid family—counted among Gaza’s long-established and prominent families—had founded an eye care center in the city in 1965, providing ophthalmic medical services to residents for over half a century.
The family’s main clinic was located near Souq Firas in Gaza City, with additional branches operating in various other areas. Over time, the Khurshid name became synonymous with eye care in Gaza.
The family’s next generation also pursued the same profession. Four brothers—Dr. Omar Khurshid, Dr. Muhammad Khurshid, Dr. Saeed Khurshid, and Dr. Umaid Khurshid—were all ophthalmologists dedicated to providing medical care to the people of Gaza.
All four brothers lost their lives during the war, resulting in the closure of the family’s renowned clinic.
The Khurshid family’s medical services, spanning several decades, stand as a testament to their enduring commitment to eye care in Gaza.
