Kharan (HRNW) — Two sons of Kharan Press Club President and former national football player Muhammad Arif, Zain Arif and Habib Arif, were reportedly travelling from Karachi to Quetta with their friend Junaid Ahmed when unknown armed men allegedly opened fire on their vehicle after it failed to stop between Sorab and Hajika.
Zain Arif was killed in the firing, while his brother Habib Arif and their friend Junaid Ahmed sustained injuries. The driver reportedly remained unharmed in the incident.
The injured passengers and the body of Zain Arif were taken to Qalat Civil Hospital. According to the available information, deteriorating security conditions in the area have created difficulties in transferring the injured to Quetta for further medical treatment.
Zain Arif was reportedly a former Levies employee and had travelled to Karachi for medical treatment.
