Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo (HRNW) – The World Health Organization (WHO) and the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) are calling for an urgent, community-led response to the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The agencies are emphasizing early detection, contact tracing, access to treatment, protection of frontline health workers and rapid delivery of resources to affected communities. WHO says community engagement will be critical to containing transmission and preventing further spread.
