Karachi (HRNW): Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Karachi Division General Secretary Rauf Nagori has issued an order suspending the party membership of Haider Umarani, a local PPP leader and former PS-100 candidate, following his arrest by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) over allegations related to an illegal call centre and alleged fraud involving foreign nationals.
According to a party statement, the decision to suspend Umarani’s membership was taken in view of the ongoing investigation into the matter.
It is noteworthy that during Muharram, Haider Umarani was also appointed as the spokesperson for the Sindh Minister for Local Government.
The PPP notification stated that Umarani’s party activities would remain suspended until further developments and clarification of the matter.
