Iranian Adviser Warns Bahrain Against Actions Viewed as Anti-Iran

Tehran (HRNW)- Ali Akbar Velayati, an adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader, has issued a strong warning to Bahrain, saying Tehran could respond more firmly if Bahrain continues actions that Iran views as hostile.

According to the semi-official Tasnim News Agency, Velayati urged Bahrain to remain mindful of its regional responsibilities and avoid steps that could further escalate tensions in the Gulf.

He warned that if Bahrain does not change its approach, Iran may be compelled to take tougher decisions in response.

The statement comes amid heightened regional tensions following Iran’s recent claim that it targeted a U.S. naval base in Bahrain with missiles and drones. Iran has repeatedly alleged that U.S. military bases in the region are being used for operations against the country.

Bahrain, however, strongly condemned the reported attacks, describing them as a violation of its sovereignty. Bahraini authorities said such actions threaten regional security and undermine ongoing efforts to reduce tensions and promote stability.

Amid the continuing crisis, Gulf countries and the wider international community have repeatedly called for restraint, dialogue, and diplomatic engagement to prevent further escalation in the region.
