Riyadh (HRNW)- Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud will begin a two-day official visit to China this week, where he is scheduled to hold high-level meetings with senior Chinese officials, including Foreign Minister Wang Yi, amid evolving geopolitical developments in the Middle East.
According to the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Prince Faisal will visit Beijing from Tuesday to Wednesday at the invitation of Wang Yi. The discussions are expected to focus on bilateral relations, economic cooperation, regional security, and the latest developments in the Middle East.
The visit comes against the backdrop of renewed tensions involving the United States and Iran, particularly over the Strait of Hormuz. Reports indicate that despite a previously signed memorandum of understanding and subsequent technical discussions in Switzerland, differing interpretations and recent developments have kept regional tensions elevated.
According to the report, regional instability and concerns over maritime security have highlighted the strategic importance of the Strait of Hormuz, a key route for global energy supplies.
Analysts believe Prince Faisal bin Farhan’s visit to China could help strengthen diplomatic coordination on regional peace, energy security, maritime trade, and broader strategic cooperation. The meetings are also expected to reinforce the growing strategic partnership between Saudi Arabia and China.
