Lahore (HRNW)- Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has said that Pakistan is moving towards becoming an economic power and warned that any hostile intentions against the country would be met with a strong response.
Speaking to the media after attending the 983rd annual bathing ceremony at Data Darbar in Lahore, Ishaq Dar said Pakistan played a historic mediating role between the United States and Iran, helping bring both countries to the negotiating table and opening a new path for regional peace.
He stated that Pakistan acted as a facilitator during the US-Iran conflict, adding that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir led the diplomatic efforts. According to Dar, Pakistan’s international standing has improved significantly, and Pakistani passports are now receiving greater respect around the world.
The Deputy Prime Minister said that after 47 years, Iran and the United States were brought together for dialogue, and Pakistan successfully facilitated the process. He added that the agreement has been officially signed and was also placed on record in the National Assembly.
Ishaq Dar emphasized that Pakistan is a peace-loving country that respects the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all nations. He reiterated that Pakistan seeks peace but is fully capable of defending its national interests against any threat.
Discussing the federal budget, Dar said that relief measures had been provided to the salaried class and business community. He added that the government inherited a difficult economic situation but had successfully stabilized and improved key economic indicators.
