At Least 18 Dead as Bus Falls into River in Bangladesh, Rescue Operations Ongoing

Dhaka (HRNW)- At least 18 people have died in a tragic accident in Bangladesh when a bus carrying around 50 passengers fell into a river while being loaded onto a ferry on Wednesday evening.

According to local officials, many passengers were rescued immediately, but several remain missing, and rescue operations are continuing with the help of divers. The accident site has about 30 feet of water, making recovery efforts challenging. Women are among the confirmed deceased, while the injured have been shifted to a nearby hospital for urgent medical care.

Rescue teams are facing severe difficulties due to adverse weather conditions, including heavy rain and strong winds, but authorities continue their search for the missing.
