Riyadh (HRNW)- At least 13 civilians were injured and seven homes and two vehicles were damaged after Houthi forces reportedly launched missile and drone attacks on three Saudi cities: Khamis Mushait, Abha, and Taif.
According to Gulf news agencies, Major General Turki Al-Maliki, spokesperson for the Saudi-led coalition supporting Yemen’s internationally recognized government, said the Houthis targeted civilian areas using ballistic missiles and drones.
Al-Maliki said the 13 injured civilians suffered wounds ranging from minor to moderate. He added that the damage to residential property and vehicles demonstrated what he described as a continuing pattern of attacks targeting civilian areas and infrastructure.
The coalition spokesperson said the alliance would take an effective and firm response to protect Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty, citizens, and civilian facilities.
He said any Saudi response would be carried out under the right to self-defense provided by Article 51 of the UN Charter and in accordance with international humanitarian law.
Al-Maliki added that the Saudi-led coalition would take all necessary military measures to prevent further attacks and counter Houthi activities.
The reported attacks come amid renewed tensions between Saudi Arabia and the Houthis, while the wider security situation in the Red Sea and Gulf remains highly sensitive due to the broader regional conflict.
