Lahore (HRNW)- Six individuals accused of cyber-blackmail and online harassment have been arrested during operations conducted by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) across Punjab.
The arrests were carried out on the special directives of Punjab NCCIA Director Hussam bin Iqbal. One suspect was arrested in Lahore, two in Faisalabad, and three in Multan.
In Lahore, suspect Iftikhar was arrested for allegedly blackmailing and harassing his former wife using private photos and videos. In Faisalabad, Muhammad Asif and Muhammad Irfan were arrested over allegations of harassment through WhatsApp and social media platforms.
During operations in Multan, Muhammad Shoaib, Muhammad Salar, and Ahmed Ali were arrested for allegedly harassing women through electronic means.
According to Punjab NCCIA Director Hussam bin Iqbal, mobile phones and other digital evidence were recovered from the suspects. The devices and evidence are currently undergoing forensic analysis as part of the investigation.
