Islamabad (HRNW)- Opposition parties have decided to intensify preparations for the September 27 protest and reach out to all political parties to convene an All Parties Conference (APC) soon in view of the prevailing national situation.
A key meeting of opposition leaders, chaired by Mahmood Khan Achakzai, was held in the chamber of Senate Opposition Leader Allama Raja Nasir Abbas. Barrister Gohar Khan, Barrister Salman Akram Raja, Asad Qaiser and other opposition leaders attended the meeting.
During the meeting, detailed consultations were held on preparations for the September 27 protest. Mahmood Khan Achakzai and Allama Raja Nasir Abbas directed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders and workers to make comprehensive preparations for the protest.
The opposition also decided to contact all political parties and convene an APC soon, where a collective strategy to address national issues will be discussed.
Meanwhile, a meeting of the Tehreek-e-Tahaffuz-e-Ain (Movement for the Protection of the Constitution) has been summoned for September 15 to review preparations for the proposed APC.
Separately, following a letter from the prime minister, communication has begun between the offices of the Opposition Leader and the Prime Minister, with consultations underway to schedule a meeting between the two.
PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan also met Opposition Leader Mahmood Khan Achakzai, with Senate Opposition Leader Allama Raja Nasir Abbas participating in the meeting. Discussions focused on the prevailing political situation and PTI’s planned march.
According to sources, a PTI delegation is scheduled to visit the residence of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman at 3:00 p.m. today. The delegation is expected to invite Maulana Fazlur Rehman to participate in the proposed All Parties Conference.
