Iran Claims Kharg Island Targeted More Than 550 Times in US-Israeli Attacks

Tehran (HRNW)- Iranian Petroleum Minister Mohsen Paknejad has claimed that Iran’s key oil export hub, Kharg Island, was targeted more than 550 times during US and Israeli attacks.

Speaking about the performance of Iran’s Petroleum Ministry over the past two years, Paknejad said the ministry continued implementing major oil and gas projects despite the attacks and other challenges.

The minister said Kharg Island, which covers around 23 to 24 square kilometers, is a crucial center for Iran’s oil exports and was repeatedly targeted during the attacks.

According to Paknejad, Iranian oil workers continued their duties even during the bombing, including loading oil tankers, demonstrating their determination to maintain export operations despite the attacks.

Paknejad said the continued operation of oil exports reflected the courage and commitment of Iranian energy workers. However, the claim that Kharg Island was attacked more than 550 times has not been independently confirmed.
