Peshawar (HRNW) — An important meeting regarding the Women’s Leadership Programme in Pakistan was held in Peshawar, chaired by Muhammad Asif Khan Awan, Provincial President of the Livestock Farmers Welfare Association, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The meeting provided participants with detailed information about women’s membership, rights, leadership roles and economic empowerment.
Speaking on the occasion, Muhammad Asif Khan Awan said that women hold a fundamental and important position in the development of society. He said women play a key role in building families and society as mothers, sisters, daughters and life partners.
He said practical measures would be taken to create employment opportunities for women, empower them and utilize their skills, enabling them to play an effective role in national and social development.
The programme is being implemented with the support of Idea Trust for Democratic Education and Accountability (IDEA), with the aim of promoting leadership, awareness, rights and democratic values among women.
General Secretary Ruqia Nadeem, IDEA official Zahir Khattak, other office-bearers and members attended the meeting. Participants expressed their commitment to continuing joint efforts for the welfare, development and empowerment of women.
