Rawalpindi (HRNW): The Punjab Prosecution Department has declared the Hina Javed murder case a high-profile case and formed a special committee comprising senior prosecutors to oversee the investigation and provide legal assistance to the investigation team.
Punjab Prosecutor General Irfan Sadiq Tarar directed District Public Prosecutor Rawalpindi Mian Imran Rahim to ensure effective prosecution of the case, registered at the Civil Lines Police Station in Rawalpindi.
According to the department, the special committee will continuously monitor developments in the case, oversee the investigation and provide the investigation team with necessary legal support.
A meeting between the District Prosecutor Rawalpindi and police officials was also held, during which the available case record, evidence and progress made so far were reviewed in detail.
Details of Hina Javed’s Death
According to the FIR, the body of 45-year-old Hina Javed was recovered from the bathroom of her in-laws’ home on the morning of August 20.
The FIR states that the victim’s hands were tied behind her back, her mouth was covered with a cloth, and an electrical wire was wrapped around her neck and tied to a shower fixture.
Hina Javed’s family has nominated her husband Faisal Asghar, father-in-law and a domestic employee in the murder case.
Medical and post-mortem findings reportedly revealed signs of severe injuries. The report stated that Hina Javed had a fractured neck bone, while injuries were also found on her ribs and hip. The report also mentioned blood around the membrane surrounding her heart.
Physical Remand, DNA and Polygraph Tests
Police presented the victim’s husband Faisal Asghar and domestic employee Zeeshan before a local court, which granted police three-day physical remand of both suspects for investigation.
Police later transferred the two suspects to Lahore to collect scientific evidence, where their DNA and polygraph tests were conducted.
Police officials said the investigation would be taken to its logical conclusion after reviewing forensic reports and other evidence collected from the crime scene.
