Islamabad (HRNW)- The Islamabad High Court has reserved its decision on the admissibility of the suspension petitions filed by Iman Mazari and Hadi Ali Chatha in the controversial tweets case.
Justice Azam Khan heard the case, during which the lawyer representing the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) raised objections to the petitions, arguing that they had been filed prematurely and therefore should not be declared admissible.
The NCCIA’s counsel requested the court to hear its miscellaneous application first, maintaining that if the other miscellaneous petition was heard beforehand, their application would become ineffective.
During the proceedings, Iman Mazari’s lawyer, Faisal Siddiqui, informed the court that he was prepared to present arguments on the miscellaneous application and suggested that both petitions could be heard together if the court considered it appropriate.
Justice Azam Khan observed that the lawyers should first be fully prepared, stating that it would better serve the interests of their clients. In response, Faisal Siddiqui said he was ready to proceed with arguments even if it meant waiving certain procedural rights.
After hearing arguments from both sides, the Islamabad High Court reserved its verdict on the admissibility of the petitions.
