Islamabad (HRNW): The Chief Justice of Pakistan has approved a 100% increase in the utility allowance for all employees of the Supreme Court of Pakistan. An official notification has been issued in this regard.
According to the notification, the revised utility allowance will take effect from July 1, 2026.
The allowance for employees in Grades 1 to 6 has been increased from Rs. 6,000 to Rs. 12,000, while employees in Grades 7 to 10 will now receive Rs. 16,000, up from Rs. 8,000.
Similarly, the utility allowance for employees in Grades 11 to 15 has been raised from Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 20,000. Officers in Grade 16 will receive Rs. 24,000, compared to the previous Rs. 12,000.
The notification further states that officers in Grade 17 will receive Rs. 30,000, up from Rs. 15,000, while the allowance for Grade 18 officers has been increased from Rs. 18,000 to Rs. 36,000.
The revised allowances are intended to provide financial relief to Supreme Court employees in view of rising living costs and will be implemented from the beginning of the new fiscal year.
