KARACHI (HRNW)- The Sindh Government has taken a major step toward eliminating illegal land occupations and encroachments. Provincial Minister for Home, Law, and Parliamentary Affairs, Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar, chaired the fourth high-level meeting of the committee established to address land grabbing and public grievances.
Key Decisions and Progress:
The committee reviewed 23 reported cases, noting that 04 have already been resolved. For the remaining cases, the Home Minister issued the following strict directives:

Immediate Prosecution: Officials have been ordered to register FIRs and arrest individuals involved in cases that fall under illegal occupation.

Fifteen-Day Deadline: The Commissioner of Karachi has been directed to submit a progress report on all pending cases within 15 days.

Zero Tolerance: Home Minister Lanjar emphasized that “land mafias are intolerable” and act as a “cancer to economic development.”
Support for the Business Community:
The Minister reiterated that the committee was formed under the special directives of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to provide immediate relief to citizens and the business community. “The Sindh Government’s top priority is to resolve the issues faced by our traders,” he stated.
Stakeholder Feedback:
Representatives from the business community, including the leadership of ABAD, KCCI, FPCCI, and KATI, expressed their gratitude to the Sindh Government for its timely action against land grabbers and pledged their full cooperation.

The meeting was attended by Home Secretary, Senior Member Board of Revenue, IG Sindh Javed Alam Odho, Secretary Land Utilization, DG KDA, DG Malier Development Authority, Commissioner Karachi, and Chairman Anti-Corruption.
