Lakki Marwat (HRNW)- A powerful explosion targeting a police mobile near Shadi Khel Police Station in Lakki Marwat has resulted in the martyrdom of seven police officers, including the Station House Officer (SHO).
According to police and initial reports, the police vehicle was targeted by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), causing a deadly blast that killed several officers on the spot. Rescue teams were immediately dispatched to the scene and the injured were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The martyrs include SHO Sadr Azam, Constable Shah Bahram (driver), Constable Shah Khalid, Constable Haji Muhammad, Constable Gulzada, and Constable Sakhi Zada, while Constable Insafuddin was injured and moved to hospital for medical care.
Following the incident, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi strongly condemned the attack and sought a detailed report from the Inspector General of Police.
The Chief Minister expressed deep sorrow over the martyrdom of seven police personnel, stating that the provincial government stands in full solidarity with the families of the martyrs. He also directed authorities to ensure the best possible medical treatment for the injured.
He added that such cowardly acts of terrorism cannot weaken the resolve of the state and its security forces.
