Medical Examination Report of PTI Founder Imran Khan Released; Significant Improvement in Vision Noted

Islamabad, Pakistan (HRNW) The detailed medical examination report of PTI founder Imran Khan has been released. The 73-year-old Imran Ahmed Khan Niazi underwent a comprehensive medical assessment on February 15, 2026, conducted by a medical board.

The medical board included Professor Dr. Nadeem Qureshi from Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital and Professor Dr. Muhammad Arif Khan from Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS).

According to the report, the central macular thickness has reduced from 550 to 350, indicating significant improvement. The vision in the affected right eye has improved from 6/36 to 6/9, which has been described as satisfactory at the current stage. Without glasses, vision in the right eye was recorded at 6/24 and in the left eye at 6/9. With corrective glasses, vision improved to 6/9 in the right eye and 6/6 in the left eye.

The medical board has also recommended a continued treatment plan. Instructions include administering Nevanac eye drops twice daily in both eyes, continuing Co-Sopt eye drops twice daily in the right eye only, and using Systane Ultra eye drops three times daily in both eyes. The second dose of the Anti-VEGF injection has been advised according to schedule. For further evaluation, OCT angiography has been recommended, along with an FFA test after completion of the Anti-VEGF course.

Following the medical board’s visit to Adiala Jail, Barrister Gohar Khan and Allama Raja Nasir Abbas visited PIMS, where specialists provided them with a detailed briefing. Imran Khan’s personal physicians, Dr. Asim Yousaf and Dr. Khurram Mirza, were also briefed over the phone.

According to the report, party leaders and personal doctors expressed full satisfaction and confidence in the ongoing treatment and follow-up plan. The medical report was officially issued with the signatures of both board doctors.
