MQM-P MPA Arsalan Pervez Urges IG Sindh to Beef Up Security for Ramadan

Karachi (HRNW) – MQM-Pakistan Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) Arsalan Pervez has formally written to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh, demanding enhanced security measures across his constituency, PS-98, during the holy month of Ramadan. In his letter, the lawmaker highlighted the significant surge in public movement at mosques, imambargahs, markets, and commercial centers, emphasizing the need for specialized security and traffic arrangements during Fajr prayers, Iftar, and Taraweeh.

The MPA noted with concern that street crimes, including motorcycle snatching and other criminal activities, often see a spike during this month, while citizens face immense hardships due to severe traffic congestion around Iftar timings. To address these challenges, Arsalan Pervez proposed increasing the number of police mobiles and ensuring effective patrolling throughout PS-98, specifically around religious sites. He further stressed the importance of dedicated traffic management to prevent gridlocks. He concluded by stating that proactive and effective action from the Sindh Police would strengthen public confidence and expressed hope that the IG Sindh would issue immediate directives to the relevant officers.
