Trump Optimistic About Israel-Hamas Ceasefire and Iran Nuclear Deal, Amid Ongoing Tensions in Gaza

Washington (HRNW)- US President Donald Trump says a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas could be reached soon, and he hopes for progress.

Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Trump spoke with great confidence about the possible peace deal. He said that progress is being made in the talks between Israel and Hamas and that the chances of a deal being reached soon are bright. Along with this, he also revealed that the US is close to an agreement with Iran regarding its nuclear program.

Trump also made several important announcements on the economic front. He decided to increase tariffs on imported steel to 50 percent and made it clear that he would discuss trade and tariff issues with Chinese President Xi Jinping. According to him, the current differences between the US and China could end soon. Referring to the legal battle over tariffs, he expressed hope that the US would win this battle.

Trump also took a soft stance on education. Although he is in a legal battle with Harvard University, he has said he wants foreign students to study in the United States and has no immediate plans to expel them.

But the issue is not limited to rhetoric. The situation in Gaza remains tense, and the resistance group Hamas there has expressed reservations about the US ceasefire proposal and indicated its rejection. Hamas maintains that Washington’s proposal does not meet its basic demands, including an end to the war, and therefore the agreement is unacceptable to them.

On the other hand, Israel, adopting its traditional tough tone, has warned Hamas in clear terms that if it does not accept the agreement on the release of the hostages, it will be “wiped off the face of the earth.” This statement reflects the Israeli leadership’s once again adopting a policy of intimidation rather than resolution of the conflict.
