WAPDA Approves Multiple Electricity Meters for Homes Under New 2026 Policy

Islamabad (HRNW)- Good news for electricity consumers, WAPDA and Power Division have issued a new policy for 2026, under which it will be legal and possible to install more than one electricity meter in homes.

The aim of this policy is to provide convenience especially to giant families, landlords and tenants so that the electricity bill of each household is separate and transparent.

According to WAPDA, additional meters can be installed only in those houses where each part of the house has a separate living space, separate entrance, separate kitchen and separate wiring.

To apply, an identity card, proof of ownership or tenancy, an affidavit and a disco check are mandatory. With the implementation of the new system, consumers will benefit from fair bills, transparency and proper use of subsidies.
