Johannesburg (HRNW) — Two separate shooting incidents in South Africa have left 27 people dead and 26 others injured, according to reports.
Media reported that 17 people were killed and 15 injured in a shooting at a bar in a township southwest of Johannesburg.
Police said armed men opened fire on people inside the bar using rifles and pistols. The motive for the shooting has not yet been established, and an investigation is underway.
A second shooting took place in Cape Town, where armed men reportedly opened fire at an entertainment venue, killing 10 people and injuring 11 others before fleeing the scene.
Police investigations are underway in both cases, with authorities working to identify and apprehend those responsible.
