Islamabad (HRNW)- Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Pakistan reached a two-year monthly high in August, with net inflows rising to $316 million, according to the Federal Ministry of Finance.
In a statement, the ministry said the latest figures indicate a notable improvement in the country’s FDI trend, with August recording the highest monthly net FDI inflow in the past two years.
The ministry attributed the increase to stronger investment from China, Canada, and the United Arab Emirates. It also said the net FDI position improved significantly as capital repatriation and outward investment outflows declined.
According to the Finance Ministry, the rise in foreign investment represents an improvement in Pakistan’s external investment position and reflects growing investor activity.
The government is viewing the development as a positive indicator of Pakistan’s transition from economic stabilization toward an investment-led and sustainable growth model.
