Tehran (HRNW)- The Iranian military has claimed that it carried out a drone attack on the Ahmad Al-Jaber Air Base, a key United States military facility in Kuwait, saying the operation was conducted in response to recent US attacks.
According to the Iranian news agency Tasnim, a military statement said that the drone strike targeted hangars, satellite communication systems and military equipment warehouses at the US military base.
The statement claimed that the operation was launched in retaliation for a recent US attack on a residential building on Iran’s Qeshm Island, which Iranian authorities said resulted in civilian casualties.
According to the Iranian military, Ahmad Al-Jaber Air Base serves as an important center for US aerial surveillance, intelligence operations and regional military activities, making it a strategic target.
However, the Iranian statement did not provide details regarding the extent of the damage, casualties or military losses resulting from the alleged attack.
As of the time of reporting, neither Kuwait nor the United States had officially confirmed or denied Iran’s claims, while independent sources had also not verified the reported attack.
According to regional analysts, if the Iranian claims are confirmed, the incident could significantly escalate tensions in the Gulf and further intensify the ongoing confrontation involving Iran, the United States and their regional allies.
