WASHINGTON (HRNW) – US President Donald Trump has sharply criticized American media outlets over their coverage of the US-Israeli war against Iran, describing some reports as “practical treason.”
In a statement posted on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump said that news reports suggesting Tehran is in a stronger military position than Washington are effectively aiding the enemy.
He argued that such reporting was giving Iran “false hope,” adding that in his view Iran should not be left with any room for optimism.
The US President also strongly attacked sections of the media, calling critics “cowards” who act against their own country, and said that only “losers, ungrateful and stupid people” oppose the United States.
According to reports, senior officials within the Trump administration have also recently intensified criticism of US media outlets over their war coverage.
Meanwhile, broadcaster CNN reported, citing unnamed officials, that President Trump had personally urged the US Department of Justice to issue subpoenas to journalists covering the Iran conflict in order to identify their confidential sources.
Political observers say tensions between the Trump administration and the American media have escalated again, particularly as the Iran conflict and wider diplomatic situation remain a focal point of global attention.
