Tel Aviv (HRNW) – Israeli authorities have arrested several suspects, including two soldiers, over allegations of stealing weapons from military bases and transferring them to unknown groups inside the country.
According to Israeli channel i24 News, the arrests follow at least four separate incidents of weapons theft reported in recent weeks. Officials have not disclosed the exact number of detainees, but confirmed that multiple suspects are currently in custody.
The broadcaster reported that the stolen weapons were allegedly being moved from Israeli military installations to unidentified groups operating within Israel.
The report also noted that in recent years the Israeli military has faced repeated cases of personnel stealing weapons from bases or supplying them to local groups, raising concerns over internal security and oversight.
