Beijing (HRNW)- The Chinese Premier has described the Taiwan issue as a “red line” in China–US relations, stating that this limit cannot be crossed under any circumstances.
According to details, the statement came during a meeting held in Beijing between the Chinese Premier and a delegation led by US Senator Steve Dennis, where bilateral relations, economic cooperation, and regional issues were discussed.
While speaking to the US delegation, the Chinese Premier emphasized that the Taiwan issue is directly linked to China’s core national interests and remains one of the most sensitive matters in China–US relations. He stated that China will not compromise on its sovereignty or territorial integrity.
He further added that China is open to strengthening cooperation and communication with the United States across various sectors, noting that practical collaboration between the two major economies could be expanded for mutual benefit.
On the other hand, US Senator Steve Dennis highlighted during the meeting that stability, economic cooperation, and peaceful relations between the US and China are essential for global economic growth and regional peace.
Experts note that the Taiwan issue has become one of the most sensitive points of dispute between Washington and Beijing in recent years, and such statements may further heighten diplomatic tensions in the region.
